May 2012 Update

Time flies when you're knee-deep in paperwork and bureaucracy, I'd forgotten just how time consuming having a 5 days a week job is!

I've been so busy recently that I pretty much glossed over my birthday (as usual) in my continued efforts to secure employment. Something's never change when it comes to work, but I must admit this time things are a lot better. There's a freedom to express myself that wasn't there before, a bit more confidence. I like this feeling, and I hope to develop this side of my life a lot more in the future.

One thing that I haven't let pass me by is the new action rpg from Capcom called Dragon's Dogma! I know from the first trailer I saw that I would be getting this game, and I fully expect to enjoy every second!

The only other thing I want to mention is how much I've been enjoying listening to podcasts as of late, particularly anything from the Sinjuku Station group. Gundamn@MAHQ is always a treat, as is Chaos Theatre, but an honourable mention goes to the newer fighting game podcast called "Fighters Ready" hosted by Gundamn's resident smooth brotha Soul Bro Ryu and his buddy Nick the Stampeed.

If you are interested in Anime, Japanese mecha (giant robot) shows, video games, movies and everything else in between, you should give these podcasts a shot. I frequently laugh my ass off to these guys!

I think that's it for now. I haven't drawn anything in a while, so I hope things will settle down at some point so I can get back on that. The weather is getting hotter which would be good if it wasn't for all the flies and uncomfortably humid nights, what are you gonna do? Either way I'm screwed (I'm convinced the UK has the worse weather in the world!), either its too hot or its too cold...

...I really wanna go abroard within the next couple of years!

March 2012 Update

At this very moment, I am writing to you from my new desk at my current work trial with a little company in Chelsea Harbour.

A couple of weeks ago, the thought hadn't even crossed my mind that I'd be doing the whole 9 to 5 working gig again in my lifetime. Now I'm 1 week in to a work trial, with the hopes that I'll have a new job!

It couldn't come at a better time too, because money is getting tight and things seem to be getting more expensive these days.

I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but if things work out I can say "Bon Voyage" to the Jobcentre for a while, which will be a VERY nice outcome for all the crap I've had to put up with from them. I could probably write a rant about how much I hate the Jobcentre, and I guess we shall see if I have a reason to do so soon.

In the mean time, I'll just keep my head down and focus on doing what I do best!

Till next time!

2012 January Update

Bloody hell its been a while! To be honest, I've been doing more updates on my artwork site than on this one, and I feel I should at least redress the balance a bit.

Its a new year with new headaches. Right now I'm writing this from the room of yet ANOTHER jobsearch course session (I swear, the Jobcentre is OBSESSED with these bloody places!), in another vain attempt to get me into a full time job and off their books. Its unlikely I'll be getting a new job anytime soon, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try right?!

I'm still volunteering with the guys who ran the 6 month work experience program I was on this time last year, only now I'm doing an internship with them. Unfortunately its more work, but I'm hoping to get a bit more out of it this time round, maybe I'll finally grow a backbone.

Anyway, I've got a couple of articles waiting to be finished, which are mostly rants about stuff that has pissed me of and made me want to get my feelings off my chest about them. (you are definately gonna love the Final Fantasy 13 destruction I have in store, so stay tuned for that!)

That will do for now, so stay tuned for more 2012 madness!
